Warrant executed - Manor Road

On Thursday 19th March, officers from Wakefield Central NPT working alongside specialist detectives from Wakefield District Children Vulnerable to Exploitation Team (CVET) executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address on Manor Road, Wakefield.

Acting on intelligence provided by the local community, the officers forced entry and secured the property and all occupants before a thorough search commenced. During the search, a quantity of suspected Class A drugs along with related drug dealing paraphernalia was recovered and the six people found inside the house were all arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking offences. Five of those people have been bailed pending further enquiries and the sixth was charged with drugs trafficking offences and remanded in custody.

Speaking yesterday, Inspector Paul Fraser of Wakefield Central NPT said: “The key objectives of the NPT are to protect vulnerable people, tackle all crime and make our communities safer. Today’s operation further demonstrates that when our communities talk to us, we listen and we act. Such policing activity cannot happen without the cooperation and assistance of our residents, and I hope they are reassured when they see NPT proactivity in their neighbourhoods. This was a joint policing operation, and the use of specialist detectives ensures we can fully safeguard those most vulnerable to criminal exploitation by organised criminals”.
